Welcome to Hammersmith Skip Hire. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our skip hire services. By hiring a skip from us, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your hire.
1. Definitions
- Company: Hammersmith Skip Hire.
- Customer: Any individual or entity that hires a skip from the Company.
- Agreement: These Terms and Conditions.
2. Hire Agreement
Upon hiring a skip, a legally binding agreement is formed between the Customer and the Company. This agreement outlines the responsibilities and obligations of both parties regarding the hire.
2.1 Duration of Hire
The hire period commences on the agreed-upon delivery date and ends when the skip is returned to the Company or extended by mutual consent.
2.2 Hire Fees
Fees are determined based on the skip size, hire duration, and any additional services requested. Payments must be made in accordance with the invoicing terms provided at the time of booking.
3. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the hiring site complies with the following conditions:
- Permits: Obtain any necessary permits for skip placement from local authorities.
- Accessibility: Ensure clear and safe access to the placement area for skip delivery and collection.
- Ground Conditions: The ground must be stable and capable of supporting the skip without causing damage.
- Obstructions: Remove any obstructions or hazards that may impede skip placement or removal.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in additional charges or cancellation of the hire.
4. Permitted Waste
Customers must ensure that only permissible waste is placed in the skip. The following guidelines apply:
- Allowed Materials:
- General household waste
- Construction and demolition debris
- Green waste
- Prohibited Materials:
- Hazardous waste including asbestos, chemicals, and flammable materials
- Medical waste
- Electrical appliances
- Tyres and batteries
Placing prohibited items in the skip will result in the immediate termination of the hire without refund, and the Customer may be liable for additional disposal costs.
5. Skip Usage
Customers must adhere to the following usage guidelines:
- Do not overload the skip beyond its capacity.
- Ensure waste is properly contained to prevent spillage.
- Do not place non-waste items or goods for sale in the skip.
- Keep children and unauthorized personnel away from the skip.
6. Delivery and Collection
The Company will deliver the skip to the specified location on the agreed date. Collection will be arranged accordingly once the hire period concludes or upon early termination.
6.1 Delivery Conditions
The Customer must be present or have authorized someone to supervise the delivery and placement of the skip. Any delays caused by the Customer may result in additional charges.
6.2 Collection Process
At the end of the hire period, the Company will arrange for the skip to be collected. The skip must be ready for collection, with all waste properly contained. Failure to comply may incur extra fees.
7. Liability
The Company is not liable for any damage to property or injury to individuals resulting from the placement or use of the skip. It is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that the hiring site is safe and suitable for skip placement.
8. Insurance
Customers are advised to have adequate insurance coverage for the skip and its contents. The Company does not provide insurance for the waste placed in the skip or for any damage caused during placement or removal.
9. Cancellation and Changes
Requests to cancel or modify a skip hire must be made in writing. Cancellation fees may apply depending on the notice period provided:
- More than 48 hours notice: Full refund minus any costs already incurred.
- Less than 48 hours notice: 50% of the hire fee.
- No-shows or non-collection: Full hire fee.
10. Indemnification
The Customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Company against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the Customer's use of the skip hire services, including but not limited to non-compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Company operates. Any disputes arising from the hire agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that area.
12. Amendments
The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any significant changes, and continued use of the services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining terms will continue in full force and effect.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Customer and the Company regarding the skip hire services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
15. Acceptance
By hiring a skip from Hammersmith Skip Hire, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
